Mystical Spring
Little Fritters
Camper is lonely no more!
Now he has more women than he knows what to do with them!
First arrived a white cat with an orange ringed tail who was appropriately named Zoey 2. She is from a local shelter, is two years old and enjoys chasing small things. Found walking the country roads, she was neutered almost immediately, but somewhere in the corners of her past, she must have had a litter of kittens. She has proved to be an excellent mother–but more about that later!
It took her about 3 weeks to pursue the now monkish Camper Man who remained high up on top of his fav perch near the ceiling of the garage. Since he is now entirely deaf, the area near the roof has become more of an oasis of safety from the mean old larger black cat that roams the woods near our place. He and Camper fight constantly–although over these last 2 years as the other aged, Camper, even deaf, has gotten heavier, and more agile. Just last week the two of them tangled in the back field, rolling over and over again clutched in a wrestling encounter that surely would have ended in the death of one or both if I hadn’t begun yelling.
But since the arrival of Zoey 2, after their 3 week, what can only be called Marriage Encounter Counseling for Cats, they now cohabitate very well and their peaceful coexistence has improved the quality of life for us all here. Now the only fighting that happens is violence from outsiders.
to be continued…..
